Finding the right machine might seem like a daunting task or it may be the opposite - depending on how much you evaluate the needs for your equipment for current and future projects. We often talk with customers about their equipment needs and the most common theme we're finding is they realize after they've already purchased a piece of equipment that they should have done their homework a bit more before making the investment in a new piece. We typically asks these questions to get the juices flowing per se -

  • What are your current and upcoming projects?
  • Where do you envision your company to be in 5 years?
  • How important is technology to your company?
  • Do you maintenance your equipment yourself or do you hire it out?

Current and Upcoming Projects
Many companies find that purchasing a piece of equipment specifically for a job can broaden their horizons and service offerings. When purchasing equipment always make sure to understand what exactly your getting and understand it's limitations so you not only maximize your investment but also increase your chances of generating more income from additional jobs from certain equipment.

Company Vision
Where do you see your company in the next five years? Often times, we get a response of "I don't have a crystal ball...that's a good question though!". Here's our advice - create a plan if you don't have. Knowing where you want to be and getting there is no different than having personal goals and knowing where you envision your company in the next five years will help your equipment purchasing decisions. If you're not organized with your vision you may have success but you may find yourself not bringing in as much profits as you'd like - you're better off spending the time up front figuring out your game plan.

Technology
To embrace technology or not embrace technology is the million dollar question. We get customers that are timid about getting technology involved in their business with their equipment, so if this is you - you're not alone! Embracing the technology available for equipment can be difficult at first due to the resources it takes to not only purchase it but to stay up to date.

Equipment Maintenance
Maintaining your equipment may seem tedious to some but to others' its the best thing they can do for not only to keep their business up and running but to protect itself with future equipment trade-ins or purchases. It's no different than owning a vehicle - stay up to date with oil scans, routine greasing, etc.
